Michael studied at the University of New England in Armidale, NSW in 1965 where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree. Following further studies in Canada, Michael qualified as a Chartered Accountant whilst working for Price Waterhouse in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Upon returning to Australia, Michael worked at the ABC and Parliament House before establishing his own firm in Canberra in 1982. Michael is well respected in the community and is known for his easygoing nature and approachable manner. Following his retirement in 2004, Michael has taken on a managerial role in the firm.
